Why do the gas prices always seem to go up on Friday and back down on Sunday or Monday?

There is no "more appropriate" place. The reason it doesn't belong here is because it doesn't belong anywhere, since it's answered on the FAQ page. Since the FAQ link has been posted, there's no need for any further commentary, except by people who think that the FAQ entry is wrong or incomplete.

We could request a lock, but it's less work to just stop posting here.

Oil companies know your more likely to drive more then just to work & back on weekends.
