They would OK this in an instant if the pipeline was full of guns supplied by the FBI and BATFE going to Mexican drug cartels.
Holder and Obama would do the ribbon cutting and then go and get a Nobel Peace Prize afterward.

I'm asking President Obama to approve Keystone XL Oil Pipeline. Obama's Administration must approve pipeline's border crossing.
Please President Obama --- order Hillary Clinton's approval of Keystone XL, it has been approved by EPA and State DEPArtment study. Only Clinton's signature is needed to get it going.

“I think the American people understand supply and demand, and they understand that if we increase the supply of Amwerican-made [sic] energy, prices will come down. It's as simple as that."
Sorry, Rep. Upton, it is not as simple as that. The price of oil is driven as much by speculation and manipulation as it is by supply and demand. Further, oil is a global commodity; as the blog goes no to state, refiners may well export product rather than allow the domestic price to drop.

If this is true, it could be good for midwest gas prices.

Just Do It - Tell Sec. of State Hillary Clinton to sign off on border crossing of Keystone XL Oil Pipeline, That's the hold-up.

The most salient point in the blog:
"More immediate discussion is needed with greater transparency for Americans and Canadians alike. The Keystone pipeline may indeed bring a measure of stability to retail gasoline prices... But, elected representatives who want to advance Keystone XL owes the electorate reliable answers from informed entities other than those with vested interests."

The US should be supporting the pipeline. I'd much rather buy oil from Canada instead of OPEC.

I'm so tired of this in Alberta!
We should push the "Gateway" pipeline through those friggin tree huggers in B.C. that turn up here looking for jobs in Alberta (to work in our oil patch) to the west coast and Asia.
Idiots in B.C could have tens of thousands of jobs instead of Americans that are simply wasting opportunity just now.

This has become a political football. The delay is driven by a desire by U.S. environmentalists to "regulate" the Canadian production of oil sands. This is totally different from the intent of the State Department and EPA reviews of the proposed pipeline.

Why are they gonna put a pipeline through the US when they could just send it over the Rockies to a port on the Pacific? Like the Alaska Pipeline? Why build such a project over inland territory? Where will this oil go to? I doubt it will be used in the US.

How can you question whether or not it will help with demand...of course, it's going to help. Will fuel prices drop - probably not, but not relying on the middle east for energy would certainly be worth a couple extra pennies to me.

Keystone XL Oil Pipeline is to bring heavy Canadian crude oil to American Refineries including those in the Midwest including Wood River Illinois.
Cheaper Canadian Crude is already helping keep midwest gasoline low.
