Great comment on the crowd sourcing...I agree, the wrong prices we may see are inconsequential to their data collection for the business side.

Excellent comment, GoGo'! "So declared National Geographic... b/c that magazine & it's editorial staff know everything about everything right? Let's see them put together the next issue, type set it, & print it all by hand in offices lit by candles. Don't use any power or any products manufactured by or made from oil." Well thought out! I add: China is the largest manufacturer of Solar Panels. And they are not producing these in factories run by Wind Turbines & Solar Power either! Care 2 B bud's? ~drill'

Wanted to say your member photo gave me a chuckle. Not to brag, I filled up at $1.93 today here in NJ where self-serve is outlawed.

Doesn't make sense, but I see it all over town. One of the worst offenders is the "Shameful Shell" at Olympic & Fairfax, where regular gas is $4.999 now - used to be $5-something. And get this - I spotted them getting a tanker of United Oil once - cheap stuff!!! There are a couple of 76 stations in Beverly Hills that always charge the max for gas - $4.399 regular at Crescent & Santa Monica Blvd. Guess the owners aren't interested in volume sales, but I see suckers in there filling up all the time.

Think the 76 at Oxnard & Hazeltine was owned by AAA Petroleum. They own other 76 stations in the Valley, but the company is on hard times. AAA 76 at Vineland/Vanowen in North Hollywood has closed down! The company appears to be getting what it can and I suspect all the stations will close, be sold or rebranded in the near future. Red Dot on Sherman and Hayvenhurst is turning into a Chevron as I write, and Chevron also took over some low-volume 76 stations around the Valley (Oxnard/Woodman, Laurel Cyn/Strathern).

The best response to my article today. Thank you for taking the time to write such an excellent post. Have a great evening.

Great comment on the wind and solar industry. I have been making similar comments for a couple of years now whenever I see similar articles. Without subsideis these forms of energy are a failure. And, whne the companies go bust they leave behind huylking and rusting eyesores that polute the visual atmosphere. and also as you stated much of the equipment is or will be produced overseas where labor is cheaper so the jobs promised never really materialize.

I pumped dallfo who sits on top of me on the front page. Nice to see my friend pinkelefant here.
