"first we're told of an abundance of natural gas then suddenly there's a shortage that drives prices up. hmmmmmm...doens't pass the smell test." Think of the movie 1984 and double-speak. It's also known as lying and deception. Just like people and the media say gas prices are lower now than under Bush, they're not. Technically speaking though, it's higher now than it ever was under Bush. It averaged $3.23 for the year in 2008 but it hit that record high in July at $4.09 a gallon that year. It's been $3.45 a gallon and higher for the average now ever since 2011 under Obama, so everyone is paying more today than then. Feel free to share that information.
