Thanks berniMi. Red light cameras are only appropriate after a thorough engineering study and after other safety changes have been made first. If there is still big problem then they may be appropriate. What I see is that local governments put these cameras in after the camera companies (which make money per ticket as well) show them how much money they can make. I have never seen a politician yet that isn't trying to find a way to make more money to waste. Then after about two years when the revenue falls off because the folks wise up to the cameras, they become a money loser and the cameras are removed. So it is obvious safety is not the real reason for their installation in the first place.
