Hello w4kh, Thank You... for your Happy Birthday post on my whiteboard earlier today. That was very kind of you and I really appreciate it. God Bless you and take care! By the way... my Dad and the rest of his family were from Greeneville Tennessee.

Agreed. There seems to be some 'base', perhaps atavistic element of human nature, that persists and drives leaders to seek a combative, rather than diplomatic, solution. Some would say it's the only way to push back aggressors, and maybe that's true in some cases.

The U.S. doesn't have a monopoly on that kind of thinking, either... it appears in most of the industrialized (rich) world. Canada too, especially when we've elected governments that particularly value resource extraction. The U.S. does seem to specialize in "manifest destiny" thinking, in its foreign policy. Hard to contemplate where it will all lead, but harder not to.

You're absolutely right... good comment. I only hope enough other people have a vision beyond "my back yard", to make a difference. Cheers. :-)

I sure hope there is. I'm off to a late start for today, but I'm leaving from here [at the library] in about an hour and a half. I can't go anywhere until the bus gets here. It's really stupid how they have their transit system set up today here, and they cut back on this route and said at the time "...we're improving service for our customers..." Typical of government BS and double-speak. Anyhow, I've got plenty of places to go to between now and Thursday, and I hope I find something today. A couple of them are better companies than where I was at and one is a former employer.

I wish my 4th had been awesome, but...maybe I'll get an open door this week on a new and decent job. I certainly need one and hope so.

Enjoy the 4th!

The day was nice because of the weather. Nothing but automobiles and buildings to look at in the city. I'd much rather be vacationing where you are at. Enjoy it while it last my friend!
