House Republicans Move On Pledge To Push Keystone XL Pipeline

WASHINGTON – House Republicans cleared a hurdle Tuesday in their efforts to push through approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, after a House committee passed a bill mandating federal approval of the project within 30 days of receiving a proposal for it.

The pro-Keystone legislation now heads to the full House, where it will be attached to a $260 billion transportation bill backed by House Speaker John Boehner (Ohio). It then moves to the Senate, where its fate becomes less clear given the Democrat majority in that chamber.

The Obama administration opposes the bill. In a recent congressional hearing, a top State Department official said the legislation is irresponsible and legally questionable because it bypasses a final review of the pipeline route.

Not a creator of jobs but a creator of money for Big Oil.

The pipeline maintenance would for the most part be going to low paying non-American laborers. Which means, the water for millions of people is in serious danger. I guess most don't think far enough, but the human body cannot go without some amount of water for longer than 3 days, in extreme cases 7 days (that's not counting heat indices of 110F and above).

Well, the US of A needs to fuel its SUV/Truck habit just like any addict. So that's very understandable.

The same Indian company from India is going to supply steel pipe for the Keystone XL Pipeline... Where is the accountability... Are they going to check all this out before or as usual much later????

Given this track record, rational, intelligent people can understand the dangers to the environment, especially to the Ogallala Aquifer this proposed pipeline poses and why so many diverse groups and individuals oppose it.
